Dynamic Destination Synthesizer / Controller

BEAMS is a WAVE TABLE SYNTHERSIZER with a distance sensor. It is capable of creating various sound effects and even drone sounds, which can be controlled by holding your hand in the air. It has one WAVE TABLE OSC and a 4-POLE FILTER, which can be modulated by the built-in LFO The LFO has four different modes. The LFO has four modes: sine, sawtooth, square, and S&H random waveforms, which can be controlled with a single knob. It also has a controller mode that allows you to use the output of the distance sensor to control other synthesizers. 

CONTROL:

WAVETABLE

Contains over 200 waveforms, which can be smoothly varied. Also included at the end of the knobs are sawtooth waveforms, sine waveforms, and a noise generator that varies with frequency, in that order. PITCH Sets the reference pitch of the oscillator.

CUTOFF / RES

DRONES contains a 4-pole low-pass filter with resonance. Turning the CUTOFF knob to the left attenuates the sound sequentially from the highest note, and no sound is emitted when the knob is fully turned.

Turning the RES knob to the right causes a peak at the pitch of the cutoff point.

LFO/BEAM

DRONES has a built-in LFO that can output a sine, sawtooth, square, or sample-and-hold random waveform. the LFO knob sets two things: the frequency of the LFO and the waveform. turning the knob clockwise speeds up the frequency and switches to the next waveform when the highest frequency is reached. When the knob is turned fully left, the LFO frequency increases. Turning the knob all the way to the left switches the LFO to DC mode, and the distance sensor can be used to control the WAVETABLE, PICTH, and CUTOFF.

AMOUNT

LFO can be adapted to WAVETABLE, PICTH, and CUTOFF. Turning the knob to the right increases the amount of adaptation and switches to the next target when the highest point is reached.

CV

CV input is adapted to PITCH. The input ranges from 0v-3.3v.

GATE Switch

When the GATE switch is set to the down position, the instrument will only sound when the distance sensor responds.

*If the power supply voltage reduction is low, the unit may not operate. Replace the AC adapter with one that outputs the correct voltage.
*If a USB hub is used or a faulty AC adapter is used, the voltage may be low.

Controller Mode

By turning the CUTOFF, PITCH, RES, WAVETABLE, AMOUNT, LFO/BEAM knob fully left, BEAMS can be used as a CV controller. The output is approximately 0V~2.75V.
